Crime and Consequence: Jewish and American Law at the Crossroads
Our first CLE of the year
Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi will lead an hourlong discussion into how American criminal law and Jewish Talmudic law treat issues involving crime and punishment.
Topics will include:
• What does the Talmud have to say about standards of evidence and proof for criminal convictions?
• What does the Talmud say about confessions?
• How do American law and the Talmud treat incarceration similarly and differently?
This CLE will take place at noon on Thursday, March 28, at Morrison & Foerster, 425 Market Street, San Francisco. Lunch will be provided. The CLE and lunch are free but please RSVP here so we can get a headcount.
